Hey Everybody,
Just checking in from Studio, well home, but Been hard at work and haven’t checked in as much as i should. Sorry about that, I have been trying to twitter a lot(@benjaminmadden if you were wondering). Anyways,the good news is “Cardiology” is almost done, we are working on mostly vocals now and it is all coming together really well. I have never been this proud of a record. If I could describe it I would have to say it’s just a more mature version of our self titled album… really simple production, just all about the songs and the lyrics. There will definitely be some suprise’s though, wouldn’t be a GC record if there weren’t right?\

There are some songs I am just dying for you guys to hear. Really hoping you will like them…more then any record. This one is gonna be a fun one to tour. The songs are really personal and i just think the GC Family Bond between Us and all of you guys is just gonna get stronger and stronger. We can’t wait. I definitely had you guys in mind when i was writing some of the lyrics, kind of the best way i know how to say things to you, really say things. It can be awkward getting too emo or sentimental in a blog. Gotta save that for the songs, so don’t worry it’s coming your way:)

Now about that cover song i promised you, I decided to do one of my favorite songs ever. It’s by a band I love called Army of Me. They put out a record in 2007 called “Citizen” it’s a great record and the singer Vince is a great friend of mine. I don’t think i ever let on to him how much I love his songwriting, and actually he has really influenced my writing a lot. This song is called “Better run” and it is one i wish i wrote. He took the words right outta my mouth. I hope you guys enjoy it and as always, I hope I didn’t F*#k it up too badly. If i did, well hey, it’s the thought that counts right? Make sure you check out the original version, i bet after you do, u go get the record.

Now It’s back to work for me, I hope all of you are well and I will try to update you again sooner then later….and I will keep the cover songs coming until we release “Cardiology” to keep you from getting too bored with us. One of these times i will let you guys pick the song and i will go and give it my best shot. Now I’m gonna leave you with a lyric from one of the new songs that will be on the record

A few days ago Good Charlotte has been posted in official site that the show in Indiana has been cancled. This is very sad news for the Indiana fans.

It is with deep regret that Good Charlotte are unable to play the show this weekend in Ft Wayne, Indiana. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the bands control they can not travel to the concert. In the history of Good Charlotte’s 13 year career they have missed very few shows and only when absolutely necessary.

“The whole band is really bummed we can’t make it to this show” says lead singer Joel Madden. “We’ve
been rehearsing and were very excited to play with cobra starship and metro station; two bands we are friends with and really enjoy. We are hoping to make this up to all of our fans in Indiana very soon. We appreciate all of your understanding and support.”

Capitol File magazine had an interview with Joel Madded and it’s posted on official Good Charlotte website.

Hey Everybody,
The day is finally here…Today we started tracking Caridology!
This is a day we have been waiting for for a long time. We have spent the last year writing and writing, throwing away, changing, re-writing and writing so more. We have a collection of songs o record now that I really believe are the best we have ever written. I love every lyric and every melody. I’m really excited to share them with you guys. Joel and I really have been digging deep on the lyrics, they are really the most personally songs and the most close to my heart then any GC song in years. So while we are all here working i thought i would start putting up more songs for you to check out. I want to try and do a new cover song every week and just show you guys some songs that i dig that make me want to write songs and just keep me inspired. I also thought it would be cool to share some old demos with you like i have done in the past. May be even share some lyrics from some songs we are doing for this record.
So this one is a cover i did of “Always Love” by Nada Surf. I think this band is great, and this song is one of my favorites of theirs. It’s from their 2005 record “The weight is a Gift” hopefully I didn’t mess it up too bad, and well if I did, just turn it off:) hah, ok well hope some of you enjoy….looking forward to giving you more soon…wish you guys could be here checkin Deano rip these drum tracks.
