It has been confirmed by Seattle TV Guide that Joel and Nicole are engaged.
Longtime couple Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are engaged, People reports.
Richie, 28, showed off her ring and announced the engagement during a Monday taping of The Late Show with David Letterman, a source told the magazine. The episode is scheduled to air Friday, but Madden, 30, couldn’t keep the news to himself for long.
“Yep. I’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so [you're] all [kinds] of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same,” he tweeted Monday, thanking his family and friends for not letting the news slip.
He later deleted the tweets — which can still be seen here — and wrote Tuesday morning, “Just woke up. I’m screwed. Oh boy.”
Calls and e-mails to Richie’s rep were not immediately returned.
Together since 2006, Richie and Madden have two children together, 2-year-old daughter Harlow and 5-month-old son Sparrow.

FINALLY……It feels right. Settle in guys, I have some explaining to do. I haven’t written this Blog post yet because I wasn’t in the right headspace to. We had a very strange End to 2009. We went in the studio for over 2 months recording a record we scrapped. We lost A DEAR DEAR Friend. I kind of lost my mind. For a moment. Such is life though right? What you do with these situations, thats where YOU decide what your gonna make of yourself right? Right.
So here we are. We decided we are the Luckiest Guys in the world to get to live our dreams like this. Getting to be creative everyday and make music. This record has been the strangest, most exciting, frustrating,emotional, challenging and most fun experience i have ever had in my life. That is why i know it is a special one. GC has never meant so much to me. i can’t explain why. I don’t know its all i have, all I really want. Watching our friends A7X say good-bye to the Rev a few weeks ago, just confirmed everything for me. Those guys are brothers. They are the only other band i have met that are just like us. Family. I realized that life is precious and every day i get to spend with Joel and Billy and Paul and Deano and our crew is really special.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcomed their baby boy Sparrow James Midnight Madden on September 9, 2009.
Nicole announce big news at her blog: “In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009 Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.”

A few days ago Good Charlotte has been posted in official site that the show in Indiana has been cancled. This is very sad news for the Indiana fans.
It is with deep regret that Good Charlotte are unable to play the show this weekend in Ft Wayne, Indiana. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the bands control they can not travel to the concert. In the history of Good Charlotte’s 13 year career they have missed very few shows and only when absolutely necessary.
“The whole band is really bummed we can’t make it to this show” says lead singer Joel Madden. “We’ve
been rehearsing and were very excited to play with cobra starship and metro station; two bands we are friends with and really enjoy. We are hoping to make this up to all of our fans in Indiana very soon. We appreciate all of your understanding and support.”

Hey Everybody,
The day is finally here…Today we started tracking Caridology!
This is a day we have been waiting for for a long time. We have spent the last year writing and writing, throwing away, changing, re-writing and writing so more. We have a collection of songs o record now that I really believe are the best we have ever written. I love every lyric and every melody. I’m really excited to share them with you guys. Joel and I really have been digging deep on the lyrics, they are really the most personally songs and the most close to my heart then any GC song in years. So while we are all here working i thought i would start putting up more songs for you to check out. I want to try and do a new cover song every week and just show you guys some songs that i dig that make me want to write songs and just keep me inspired. I also thought it would be cool to share some old demos with you like i have done in the past. May be even share some lyrics from some songs we are doing for this record.
So this one is a cover i did of “Always Love” by Nada Surf. I think this band is great, and this song is one of my favorites of theirs. It’s from their 2005 record “The weight is a Gift” hopefully I didn’t mess it up too bad, and well if I did, just turn it off:) hah, ok well hope some of you enjoy….looking forward to giving you more soon…wish you guys could be here checkin Deano rip these drum tracks.

Good Charlotte star Joel Madden attended May 20 at America Idol. MTV reports:
Joel Madden and Nicole Richie were spotted in the “Idol” audience taking in the action firsthand. Before the results were announced, Joel wrote, “Honestly Adam and Kris were both great. But watching Adam perform with Queen, he really held his own. I was impressed. I really get him now.”

Harlow’s going to be getting a baby brother!
While Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have yet to confirm the sex of their baby, In Touch is reporting that Nicole will give birth to a boy in August.
A friend tells the mag, “Joel bought water-based paint for the nursery and—surprise, surprise —it’s blue.” They also said that Nicole refers to the baby as “he.”
“Plus, [Richie] recently ordered some plush animals and infant toys from FAO Schwarz, and everything just happens to be blue.”
