Hey Everybody,
Just checking in from Studio, well home, but Been hard at work and haven’t checked in as much as i should. Sorry about that, I have been trying to twitter a lot(@benjaminmadden if you were wondering). Anyways,the good news is “Cardiology” is almost done, we are working on mostly vocals now and it is all coming together really well. I have never been this proud of a record. If I could describe it I would have to say it’s just a more mature version of our self titled album… really simple production, just all about the songs and the lyrics. There will definitely be some suprise’s though, wouldn’t be a GC record if there weren’t right?\

There are some songs I am just dying for you guys to hear. Really hoping you will like them…more then any record. This one is gonna be a fun one to tour. The songs are really personal and i just think the GC Family Bond between Us and all of you guys is just gonna get stronger and stronger. We can’t wait. I definitely had you guys in mind when i was writing some of the lyrics, kind of the best way i know how to say things to you, really say things. It can be awkward getting too emo or sentimental in a blog. Gotta save that for the songs, so don’t worry it’s coming your way:)

Now about that cover song i promised you, I decided to do one of my favorite songs ever. It’s by a band I love called Army of Me. They put out a record in 2007 called “Citizen” it’s a great record and the singer Vince is a great friend of mine. I don’t think i ever let on to him how much I love his songwriting, and actually he has really influenced my writing a lot. This song is called “Better run” and it is one i wish i wrote. He took the words right outta my mouth. I hope you guys enjoy it and as always, I hope I didn’t F*#k it up too badly. If i did, well hey, it’s the thought that counts right? Make sure you check out the original version, i bet after you do, u go get the record.

Now It’s back to work for me, I hope all of you are well and I will try to update you again sooner then later….and I will keep the cover songs coming until we release “Cardiology” to keep you from getting too bored with us. One of these times i will let you guys pick the song and i will go and give it my best shot. Now I’m gonna leave you with a lyric from one of the new songs that will be on the record

VITRIOL: THE HUNTER

I just realized I never posted this image of Vitriol here for some reason. This is the art that has been used for all the promo announcing the comic book I will be co-writing and pencilling for IDW publishing. This was originally drawn as the cover to the first issue, pencilled and inked by me and colored by Sean “Cheeks” Galloway. I’ve since drawn a new cover that I feel is much stronger than this one. We are thinking about releasing both covers for issue one and making one of the variants a collectors item. The first issue is script is complete and i’ll begin pencilling the pages next week..for now here’s some art!
